A Poem to My (Fictional) Valentine

I am alone on Valentine’s Day with one of my favorite books and I just got to the chapter with my favorite character. This inspires poetry! Guess who he is! The book and character are named below.

Mysterious, cloaked in green and brown
Hood and mask disguise all but your grey eyes
 Eyes that unravel many mysteries
Watching, listening, ‘ere your arrow flies
 Wise Warrior

O’ seer of dreams and visions so dark
You could not hold him, who went in your stead
 Brotherless, fatherless, yet truest son
He handsomest is, who handsomest does
 Noble Steward

O’ so tall and fair, with the darkest hair
Mercy giver, yet no pity deliver
Brave and bold, though not enchanted by gold
 Perceiver, ever wise to deceivers
 Valiant Captain

You love not the sword for its sharpness
Though swift be the arrow, it charms you not
A warrior’s glory, you never sought
For her, you fight to defend, your white tree
 Man of Highest Quality
