Worth Waiting For…

Just being honest, I got to the end of my Thanksgiving break realizing I had practiced very little thankfulness. It was an emotional week, worrying about things I don’t have yet or things that have been taken away by COVID. It was a hard battle to reorient my thinking.

I want to be present this season. I actually have more time compared to last Christmas when I was beginning the remodel and well, COVID cleared up my schedule. I wanted to do something to celebrate Advent, anticipating the coming of Christ. Since I missed the driving sentiment of Thanksgiving, I’m backing up a little bit and celebrating a thanksgiving themed Advent.

Each day, leading up to Christmas, I will focus on something I am thankful for and that is worth waiting for (even if I hate the waiting part).

Day 1: Snail Mail is worth waiting for. I love getting a handwritten personal letter or card in the mail. I just sent off my Christmas cards and I’m hoping I’ll find a few waiting for me in my own mailbox in the next few weeks. Spread the Christmas cheer!

(I’ll publish an update post after Christmas, or you can watch Facebook for updates in between.) Happy Advent!

  1. Happy Advent to you, Chelsea! I so miss all the seasons of the church calendar. We have short outdoor services but they’re just not the same.
